Taking care of your vehicle between details
It is a good idea to wash your car or truck between details to keep it looking its best.
If you want to wax, you can ask me what wax would be best (as it varies with different cars and tastes) and how often to apply. I will also give you a few tips on waxing in these pages.
1. Washing
Washing only takes 15-20 minutes, but if done wrong you can damage the paint on your vehicle.
I recommend using two buckets when you wash, one with soapy water and one with clean rinse water. Dip your mitt in the soapy water and wash a panel or two of your car, then rinse the mitt in the clean water and repeat. This will keep dirt from grinding into your paint and causing unsightly swirl marks.
Rinse your car before you start washing, and rinse after. Dry with a soft, 100% cotton towel or a microfiber or I also like the "absorber," from Target or an auto store.
2. Waxing
In order to give your car that extra special look, you can wax however often you want. Most wax will last 2 to 6 weeks or more.
Feel free to ask me for some recommendations when I come to detail your vehicle.
To wax, make sure you wash your vehicle first. Apply the wax in back and forth motions, not circular. Apply it in the direction air moves across your car when you are driving it.
Depending on the wax, buff it off with a soft 100% cotton towel or microfiber towel.
